Luxury salon, Style & Blow, recently opened their first venue in London, so I headed down to their launch night to get a sneak peak of the treatments on offer.
Just around the corner from St Pauls Cathedral, tucked amongst several glitzy bars, restaurants and offices, Salon & Blow is perfectly situated to attract clients looking for a quick pampering session on a lunch break or before a night out. The salon is ideal for those wishing to slot a treatment into their busy London lifestyle.
On arrival there was a great vibe straightaway as the salon was already buzzing with activity with both the press and public enjoying the services on offer. We were greeted at the door with a glass of champagne and were led to the reception desk where we were given a choice of one of three complimentary treatments, including a range of super-sleek updos designed by celebrity stylist Carmen Amelia, a 15 minute makeover from the salon’s in house beauticians or a bold express manicure with colours from OPI. I opted for a hair treatment and Anouska booked in for a make over.
Waiting for our treatments gave us a chance to explore the venue. The salon was split into three areas, one for hair styling, a nail bar in the centre and makeup on the opposite wall. Style & Blow is also joined to the luxurious Grange St. Pauls’s Hotel with easy access to the hotel’s spa directly below the salon and the lavish foyer which hosts the hotel’s bar and coffee shop – though the salon is open to both hotel guests and the public.
After another glass of champagne it was time for our treatments. My stylist gave me a choice of several hair styles on offer from the Mayfair Classic straight blow dry, the glamorous Knightsbridge, a half up, half down curled updo, the sophisticated Chelsea Wave and the bohemian-chic Soho Braid which I opted for. I loved the style – perfect for festival season! Style & Blow offer treatments designed for affordability and convenience, so they vary from 30 to 45 minute blow drys and updos, ranging from £25 into £36. Additional treatments include head massages, extensions and hair conditioning masks.
At the make up bar, Anouska chose a sultry smoky eye look. Her beautician explained that all of the products used on the night are also used for the salon’s clients, including eye shadow palettes and lashes from NARS and MAC.
Treatments finished and feeling totally pampered, we captured our looks at the photo booth and headed next door to the Imageworks Gallery to grab a bite to eat with the other guests. The canapés provided from the hotel included a delicious selection of thai finger food and sushi.
At the end of the evening we left with a goody bag with gifts from Edgerton, Fever Tree, Pink Tea, Sibú Chocolate, plus a Style & Blow compact mirror and a voucher for a free treatment.
