Marriage isn’t something I think about very often in my day-to-day life, what with me being eternally single and with little interest in planning my ‘big day’. However, Dutch duos Viktor & Rolf have just changed that with their new collection. Victor & Rolf have created one off bridal gowns before however, this is the first dedicated bridal wear collection from the label. Their first ever six-piece Marriage capsule collection has been created as part of their pre- spring/summer 2014 collection. And it really was worth the wait!

Victor & Rolf have long been a brand associated with dramatic looks so it should come as no surprise that the collection swerves the traditional bride-to-be look. Instead, the pair have created 6 very different designs for brave brides from mini dresses to jumpsuits. Many of the dresses are unconventional looks, focusing on sleek, sharp lines. From a ruffle mini dress to a mullet hem shirt-dress (my personal fave!) the dresses are prefect for those looking for a more modern look on their big day.

The longer dresses also twist traditional wedding dress conventions with piled up-bow detailing to the back or a volumous ruffled bust. On the one hand the dresses may be unusual, but Victor & Rolf have ensured not all tradition has been discarded by maintaining a white and ivory colour palate. All in all the collection is beautiful – so beautiful in fact it makes this non-wedding type want to be a Viktor & Rolf bride!
