The K Bar within The Kensington hotel is a sophisticated space with lush royal blue upholestry and deep grained oak panelling. It is dimly lit, creating a cosy atmosphere for intimate moments. The cocktail list cocktail has been put together with unique recipes created to demonstrate how food and drink go so well together.

We visited the K Bar one Thursday evening and sunk into their inviting velvet sofas, before being brought the menu and some bar snacks. The menu is made up of contemporary, classic and dessert cocktails, alongside your spirits and some hot beverages and soft drinks.

The average price of a cocktail here is £12 or £15 for a champagne cocktail, which is pretty standard considering the location. If you like sweet cocktails, there aren’t many to choose from on this menu. We chose the Tiki Rascal, as it was suggested as one of their “sweet” cocktails, but it still wasn’t very sweet. They can however make a couple cocktails that aren’t on the menu, such as a strawberry mojito.

We also tried the Kensington Champagne Coctail – this was not sweet at all, considering we thought it might be as it had rhubarb in it. It was a pleasing cocktail to start, but had a bitter aftertaste.

I’d say this is more of a gentleman’s type bar, as they serve far more bitter and strong cocktails and the atmosphere is created in the same way.

All in all, the K Bar is a lovely bar that is chilled out and offers bar snacks and a generous amount of cocktails and spirits. Make sure you pop down if you’re staying in The Kensington or if you happen to be in the area.
