23-year-old singer/songwriter Safiyyah releases her new single ‘Let You In’ from her forthcoming EP to be released in February. Recorded at Pirate Studios, produced by Sammy Soso (Trillary Banks, WizKid) and co-written by Chloe Bodur, the single is an afrobeat/dance inspired song that is about inspiration and being confident in your surroundings.

“It’s more of a personal song to myself, it’s about my characteristics. Being introverted but selectively extroverted, letting someone into my world, leaving motives way too soon. A song where people can relate to being a bit reserved but around the right people they come alive” – Safiyyah

Born and raised in West London from Portuguese and Moroccan descent, Safiyyah’s music shares vulnerable lullabies on relatable life experiences. She uses her music to journey through themes of nostalgia, culture, relationships and independence. Her music flows seamlessly between Neo-Soul, low-fi, R&B and contemporary jazz with influences including the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Erykah Badu & Prince whilst also interpreting powerful female inspiration from the likes of Nina Simone and Frida Kahlo. Having seen her debut EP drop in May 2020, she’s now looking to the future and excited to share more of her music.

“I wanted my debut EP to show people the different sides to me; give people an insight to who I am as a person. The title, Third Eye, stems from my spiritual journey and how the third eye represents knowledge and enlightenment. I wanted to enlighten people into my world whether it be love, hate or experiences and express this through my sound and lyricism”Safiyyah

Safiyyahs debut EP received notable plaudits, such as making it onto Jamz Supernova’s Top 5 EP list on BBC 1xtra and generating over 400,000 streams on Spotify. Following the success of the EP, Safiyyah went on to feature on rising rapper Finn Foxell’s EP “Talk Is Cheap” and supported successful US artist Sonia at The Grace, London.
