aaaaahhhhh Drake is giving us everything and more, in his third single he has released this year, ‘Nice for What’- whether it be the Lauryn Hill backing track, or the countless cameos of phenomenal women that will have you screaming at your screen.
Directed by Karena Evans, Drake pays homage to the extraordinary women that are killing the game, left, right and center. The visuals showcase, Brit babes, model Jourdan Dunn & actress Letitia Wright who plays ‘Shuri’ in Black Panther. Black-ish and Grown-ish actress & activist Yara Shahidi, who will be studying African-American studies and sociology at Harvard University. Actress, writer, director, producer, Issa Rae…… the list goes on!
Making sure that none of the women featured go unknown, the video reels off a list of their names at the end, however the only person that has viewers pondering is missing – is the very Lauryn Hill herself!
One watch is definitely set to leave you feeling proud and inspired and has us wondering whether Drake sharing his platform in his music video’s is starting to become a trend. We will just have to wait and see what he does in the next one!
