Join us for an exciting evening hosted by YouTube and Blogger @VerifiedAMI where she catches up with Music & Media Specialist @KaiyaMilan + Special Guests.
This workshop and talk introduces the concept behind navigating your way in the music industry, how to define yourself through branding and marketing, and planning/executing your first project.
Kaiya Milan started her career in music whilst completing her final year at university, at first assisting with day to day tasks, but quickly rising through the ranks to becoming a Musician Management Executive at MusiqMind.
Managing both individual instrumentalists and bands, both she and others, quickly became aware of her strengths. She began consulting and project managing artists, and was fortunate enough to see them through to significant support slots, such as the Musicalize Omarion Headline Show at Koko London.
Shortly after, Kaiya began managing well-known Poet, Artist and Creative Kojey Radical. Since then, she has worked with many brands and companies including Adidas, Apple, Beats, Live Nation, Festival Republic, Dr. Martins + many more.
After observing the amount of women being overlooked within the business side of Music, Kaiya started her own collective called Women in Music UK which aims to connect and empower women in the music industry.
After a series of successful events in 2015, Kaiya held their latest in February at the Apple Store in Covent Garden, which sold out in less than 8 hours. After turning 22 years old, and obtaining her degree in Journalism & Media Law last year, Kaiya Milan was then able to devote all her time to managing Kojey Radical just in time for the release of his latest EP 23 Winters which reached Top 3 on the iTunes HipHop charts in the first day of release.
Alongside her work with Kojey, Kaiya Milan continues to build Women in Music UK, with a lot of exciting events planned for 2016. In addition to this she is also running her own workshops on branding, as well as consulting and project managing artists on a freelance basis.
