Taylor Swift won best album, which is the second time she has won this award, making her the first female singer to win the award twice. Her inspiring acceptance speech was addressed to young women, which is claimed to be a dig at Kanye West, who recently alleged that he made Taylor Swift famous.
This year’s awards ceremony was a clash/war between RnB and Pop.
A rare, but wonderful sight was Pitbull’s performance, as Sofia Vergara danced alongside him in a similar attire that JLO would most likely wear. The Modern Family star disclosed on the red carpet at the Oscars that she did not prepare much for the performance, as it was pretty much decided last minute that she would perform. Lady Gaga paid her tributes to the rock icon, David Bowie, during her moving and stunning performance. She donned make up inspired by Ziggy Stardust, Bowie’s alter ego, on the red carpet. The 29 year old performed Bowie’s hits such as, ‘Fashion’ and ‘Space Oddity.’ Maria Schneider, won a Grammy award for Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals for Bowie’s song ‘Sue (Or In A Season Of Crime). Justin Bieber was awarded with his first ever Grammy for Best Dance Recording for ‘Where Are U Now’.
Record Of The Year was given to Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson for ‘Uptown Funk’.
One of the most awaited performances was Rihanna’s, who unfortunately could not take the stage, as her doctor revealed that if she sings, then her vocals will be damaged. Slightly disappointing…
