Long gone are the days when celebrities remain relevant by sticking solely to the industry they began in. In order to keep up with the fast pace of entertainment and remaining in the know they must try their hands at various revenues and industries. Snoop is not holding back with a whole makeover. Not only is there a name change, but an album, documentary and game comes with it.

Snoop Lion is ready to take us on a journey as he transitions from dog to lion. With this animal kingdom reincarnation comes a notable difference in the genre of music he produces. His latest album, Reincarnated set to release on the 23rd April, 2013.

The artist revealed the artwork for his album – where we can see he kept it simple and portrays a reggae influence from the get go.

It is reported that the once hiphop artist collaborated with the likes of Drake, Rita Ora and Busta Rhymes, as well as Dancehall music industry artists; Movado and Popcaan for his new look.

He believes that through this album he will be able to portray his “humble beginnings” which are infact in Reggae music.

Former Dogg turn Lion promises his album will not dissapoint claiming “My record is dipped and whipped, spooned and groomed, suited and booted… the whole lot“. The clip below is a snippet of the documentary which willbe released on the 15th March, 2013. It is a reflection piece where Snoop Lion visits the Nyabinghi Temple and learns the significance and meaning behind the Rastafari culture, dreads and the root of their music.
