Believe it or not, Spring isn’t actually that far away and the word on everyone’s lips for next season is ‘minimalism’. Balmain recently showcased their Spring/Summer 2014 collection with models like the gorgeous Rosie Huntingdon Whitely and Georgia May Jagger going virtually make-up free and the talk of the town suggests that their new collection at next month’s London Fashion Week will emphasise more of the ethereal make-up trend.
The ‘natural’ look is said to be a big one to watch, as models shunned last season’s staple of colour and extravagance, for a more low maintenance and easily achievable style. Next season is all about keeping it simple with a barely there foundation base and balmy lips in a colour true to your own.
Take a leaf out of Balmain’s book and avoid the heavy eye make-up and contoured complexions so often spotted on the catwalk. It’s refreshing to see the models strut their stuff, mostly bare faced, in front of the world’s media. Go Balmain!
