Maleficent is the new Disney movie that everyone is going crazy for, not just for its great storyline and visual effects but because of how it encapsulates a new era of fashion, with actress Angelina Jolie at the centre of the sequins and sparkle.
Wowing the paparazzi on the red carpet at the film’s premiere this week, Angelina showed off a studded golden cuff and a dangerous but dazzling javelin style earring both designed by Stella McCartney which were reminiscent of Ange’s villainous character.
The choice to commission Stella for the special red carpet appearance came as no surprise as film makers were said to have worked closely with designer brand Crow’s Nest Fine Jewellery which saw Angelina and co-actress Elle Fanning sporting an array of opulent onyx and black diamond pieces.
The brand tried to capture a “Dark but beautiful” side to both actresses who wowed us with their performances in Maleficent, a modern day take on the classic Sleeping Beauty tale. We just hope that Angelina and Elle were allowed to keep the jewels once filming had finished!
