THIS IS AN EVENT YOU HAVE TO ATTEND!

PR & Communications 7 May meeting – Female voices in the media, all welcome

Kirsty Walker, associate director at iNHouse Communications and co-founder of HerSay – the UK’s leading media resource centre for female experts, will be guest speaker at the 7 May meeting of the PR & Communications branch.

HerSay aims to help women raise their profile within their chosen field and increase the number of inspirational role models. It holds a database of women with all levels of expertise – from recognised leaders in their field, to those with personal stories to tell from their own life experiences. This gives media outlets the opportunity to choose a female voice to bring balance to a story.
With men outnumbering women on news and current affairs programmes four to one, there is a desperate need for more authoritative female voices in our media.

Broadcasters themselves acknowledge that they would like to book more expert women to appear on their programmes, but struggle to find them.
HerSay provides an invaluable resource for producers and journalists who want to use more female experts either in the broadcast media or to provide quotes for print or online publication.

Half an hour of the meeting will be for branch business with Kirsty speaking from 7pm. After a short presentation we will open the floor to a discussion on how members in the PR industry can help to ensure that more female voices are heard and seen in our media.
Refreshments will be available.

The meeting will take place from 6.30pm at Headland House, Gray’s Inn Road, London WC1X 8DP. All welcome.

LOOKING FORWARD  TO SEEING YOU ALL THERE LADIES, LET’S TAKE OVER icon_wink-6380869
