Valentine’s Day is often assumed to be a difficult time for those who don’t have partners, but Galentine’s Day is a special day dedicated to celebrating friendship. So, it is the perfect opportunity to take some time away from your family and enjoy some much-needed time with your friends.

Having gone viral on TikTok, founder Rob created Hoadys when he met a girl who he later asked to be his girlfriend. Rob decided to do this by putting a hidden message in the candle saying “will you be my girlfriend” – how cute?!
Since starting up the business in late 2020 in his kitchen, Hoadys has since been able to set up shop in a quaint little workshop in Hove where all of their Hidden Message Candles are hand beaded, scented and poured with love & care.
Sassy Shop Wax
Whilst on the subject of scents as Galentine’s gifts, then you should definitely check out Sassy Shop Wax. The house-proud founder Keely spotted a massive gap in the market for a premium scented wax melt brand that could make her home smell like her favourite bath bomb.
Armed with pure passion and excitement Keely started making her own from her kitchen in Bristol and began selling them through a Facebook Shop as well as working a full-time job in recruitment.
In December 2018, the shop was selling out within minutes of new stock being added. Stock that would have taken Keely and her family all month to make and wrap by hand. It was time to start thinking about expansion, with a small warehouse and a growing team to help keep up with demand.
By 2021, despite Covid 19 still causing mayhem, Sassy made some big moves yet again, launching Sassy Shop Bath, securing some big stockists such as Boohoo and Pretty Little Thing, developing a range of fragrance oils.
Their wax melts are truly stunning and smell incredible. The scent fills up your room without being too overbearing -plus they’re super cute and sparkly!
Custard Cloth
Custard Cloth is an accessories label from London-based designer Lucy Brassington launched in the pandemic of 2020. With a background in Fashion Textile Design from the London College of Fashion and over 8 years’ experience designing accessories for most of the high-street, Lucy now promotes slow fashion, with sustainability in mind.
Each item is made to order, so no wasted stock, all packaging is eco-friendly, and most materials are locally sourced. Lucy’s accessories are designed thoughtfully for the everyday, adding a uniqueness to any outfit.
Custard Cloth has even launched their own Valentine’s/Galentine’s Day range which is perfect for your gals who are lovers of eco-friendly products. Their 3-piece set consists of scallop print satin eye mask with padding and mint satin covered elastic, and a pouch bag with lilac ribbon drawstring closure.
The bag contains 5 x bamboo and organic cotton rounds to use for make-up removal. You’ll also find hidden inside a QR code which will take you to a skin care routine blog post. They’re machine washable too so just chuck the pads and pouch together into the wash.
Glisten Cosmetics
Finally, we must include some makeup products, our hot favourite at the moment is a brand called Glisten cosmetics.
Natalie is the founder and owner of Glisten Cosmetics. They’re a small family (and friend) run brand from the UK! Natalie started the brand in 2017 as a bit of a side business, as her main job didn’t cover the bills.
Natalie started selling glitter as it was something she could easily do at home. In 2018 she had her daughter and was off work so decided to bring out her very first eyeshadow palette. She designed it, tested colours and formulas, sampled it and then it was produced!
Roll onto 2020 and Wet Liners were born, and the rest is history! Having a range of colourful, inclusive products that are affordable for any budget is something close to Glisten’s heart!
Their wet liners are super affordable, highly pigmented, and beautiful. They have some gorgeous colours perfect for a Galentine’s night out or meal.
