The highly anticipated Beyonce Formation World tour finally came to Wembley Stadium last night and what an epic show it was – definitely worth the wait!

I couldn’t help but feel a sense of empowerment from the night. Her clever selection of songs she performed such as: ‘Me, myself and I’, ‘Irreplaceable’, ‘Run the World’, ‘Freedom’ and ‘Survivor’, regularly asking the audience ‘Where are my queens at?’ and asking us to repeat slogans such as ‘I Slay’ and ‘I’m flawless’ reinforced the idea of liberation and breaking free. It was at that moment I realised why Beyonce is the queen of music and so much more…

Yes, the amazing costumes, dancing, and intricate detail to staging is all a contribution to the Queen Bey’s position, but I think it goes far beyond that.

Her music is inundated with political statements, an activist nature, her fight for freedom and stance for liberation and empowerment and this is the reason why she is as successful as she is – Her music gives her listeners a sense of hope, and the idea that one day you will conquer.

Self Empowerment + Music = A SUCCESS

All attendees seemed to have lost themselves in the music, totally ignoring the fact that they were actually in public (Toni and I included) – screaming lyrics from the top of their lungs and bussing dance moves that should only be seen in the bedroom…

Beyonce’s tribute to the late Prince was a nice touch. The stadium was lit with violet lights as the classic ‘Purple Rain’ flooded the stadium during Beyonce’s clothing change. She also made reference to Michael Jackson as being one of her musical inspirations. And to top it off, she also danced to our London boy Skepta’s ‘That’s Not Me’ backing track – UK music industry… we are finally getting the attention of the world, and I love it!!!

The show was epic. Beyonce put her all into every details, just as we expected.

I won’t be in a rush to go to any concert after witnessing last night! Beyonce has set the bar so high, I don’t believe anyone can come close.

All hail Queen Bey!
