This week music gave us something new – Pharrell Williams is renowned for his amazing work in the industry, and has been all over the place in the past year teaming up with music’s greatest such as Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake and Jay Z to name a few.
We all knew it was a matter of time before the lyrical genius released more music for us all- Girl is Pharrell’s second solo studio album, with artists such as daft punk, Miley Cyrus, Justin Timberlake Alicia Keys and JoJo playing a part in this new piece of work.
However in recent news, fans and critics of the artist have come out to say that Pharrell has disrespected the black community with the selection of non-black models for the album art. It is interesting to note race has become another way to target artists and Pharrell aired his views on this calling the criticism “crazy” as in reality one of the models is in fact a black woman.
The album is due to be released this week and from the looks of it, it’s going to be epic.
