As the days are getting hotter, we need to protect our skin from multiple things such as the sun and insects. Even on overcast days, our skin can still be damaged by the sun.
It is so important, especially for us girls, to make sure that our foundation contains sunscreen. Always look at the bottom of the bottle to see the products SPF value before purchasing!
By including an SPF foundation into our makeup routines can ensure that our face is always protected from the sun. Without this, sun damage can cause many problems such as cancer, early signs of ageing, and burning.
Of course, whilst we are in the middle of a heatwave, it is vital that we invest in a good sunscreen. There are so many sunscreen brands out there that all claim to do the same thing. It’s not as simple as looking at the SPF factor nowadays. We now need to protect ourselves from both UVB and UVA rays.
According to recent research, the recommended sunscreens contain at least one of the following:
- ecamsule
- avobenzone
- oxybenzone
- titanium dioxide
- sulisobenzone
- zinc oxide
Water-resistant sunscreen is also recommended when going to the beach or on holiday as it will protect your skin whilst you’re in the water.

Bite Away is a chemical-free gadget that works solely by concentrated heat and is therefore also suitable for pregnant women, children* as well as for people suffering from allergies.
