Its winter once again girls, the season of chunky knitwear, fur, boots and fluffy socks! Whilst wrapping up to combat that cold weather make sure you protect your extremities- the skin on your hands, feet and face are extremely delicate and as a result, often prone to the problem of dry skin. Not ideal!

That’s why, in the midst of the frosty weather, there’s only one important beauty tip- moisturise! For the softest hands this season check out our top ten picks for winter hand cream.

Vaseline Healthy Hands and UV Protection- starting at £3.75 for 75ml this is always an affordable classic. The cream comes in several different formulas, including an intensive treatment packed with keratin, as well as the essential moisturiser with pure aloe and stratys extract.

The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector (£5)- It smells herby and medicinal, but it’s incredibly thick and moisturising. Perfect for dry and cracked skin this product works to restore moisture and suppleness to hard worked hands.

Soap and Glory Hand Food (£5)- You really can’t go wrong with Soap and Glory, the price is great and the product is great. For those with a sweet tooth, filled with fresh bergamot, strawberries and mandarin, with floral and fruity midnotes, and musk, amber and warm vanilla, this cream leaves hands smelling of marshmallows. We also recommend Soap and Glory’s Endless Glove for a more intense treatment. The 2 in 1 moisture mask and hand cream works to sooth chapped hands, working best when left on using Soap and Glory’s moisture mask gloves.

Natio Spa Heavenly Hand Cream (£6)- Natio Spa absorbs quickly and smells divine. This non-greasy cream works to strengthen and protect both hands and nails, working particularly well to reduce signs of aging.

L’Occitane Crème Mains Dry Skin Hand Cream 150ml (£19)- L’Occitane is super creamy  and enriched with honey and almond extracts. Voted as Best Hand Cream by Red and Marie Claire this rapidly absorbing formula is a sure winner for tired, aching hands.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream (£23)- Fast absorbing, and it really does last for 8 hours! Created in 1930, the story goes that ‘the apricot coloured balm was so beneficial to her clients, Miss Arden used it to soothe her famous thoroughbred horses’ legs. Even its name came about thanks to a remarkable performance – a loyal client used it to treat her child’s skinned knee and eight hours later the skin was all better’ (http://www.boots.com/en/Elizabeth-Arden-Eight-Hour-Cream-Intensive-Moisturizing-Hand-Treatment-75ml_16273/)

Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Therapy (£15)- It has a velvety, buttery texture and smells of rose petals and peach nectar. This cream contains conditioning Rose hybrid and Rosa gallica extracts, plus extract of myrrh to condition cuticles and nails. The perfect winter treat!
