On arrival at the Harley Street clinic, I was greeted by Sian’s very glamorous receptionist who explained the treatment and got me to fill out the consent forms.
Sian soon came out to meet me and led the way to her pretty, essential-oils infused treatment room. She again explained the process of the blush tint, while I sat there with numbing cream on my lips, which gave me a good enough time to pick the brains of this amazing girlboss!
Being a permanent make-up specialist wasn’t Sian’s original career path. After leaving uni, she went into the world of recruitment. A few years into her professional career, she was made redundant in the early part of January and by October of the same year, she was qualified and started her new found love of the permanent make-up field.
Sian was always into make up and regularly got her eyebrows tattooed, so it seemed like a perfect fit for the passionate female entrepreneur.
Sian and her husband deferred having children until her business was established enough to have a work-life balance. Dedicating years to perfecting her trade, learning new techniques by attending classes, conferences and tutorials, Sian even now, attends learning sessions to ensure she is at the forefront of the technology and trends in her field.
The mother of two, is now at a stage in her life where she has perfected the balance between business and family, something I found quite refreshing. Sian makes sure she does the school runs, which is important to her. Her personal working day is 10am-3pm, although Sian has other make-up specialists in her team who carryout the treatments when she is not at work. I found it encouraging to meet a woman who is so driven but yet manages to balance family and business, something I believe more women should be working towards.
34-year-old Sian Dellar, is an award winning microblading artist and has managed to create a recognised brand which operates from one of the most iconic streets in London known for cosmetics – Harley Street.
