DIY DUERR'S JAR INSPIRATION – The Streets

Get your creative juices flowing this festive season, with these DIY Duerr’s jar ideas. Perfect for gift ideas with that added personal touch or simply just a home decoration. Whatever you chose to use them for, we have three inspiring ideas to get you started.

CHRISTMAS SPICES

These beautiful, fragrant jars are sure get you in the festive spirit. Use them either for decoration, or as a ready-made mulled wine spice kit.

You’ll need:

• Duerr’s jar(s)
• Christmas spices – we’ve used Star Anise, Cinnamon Sticks and Cloves
• Ribbon
• Thin fabric

1. Clean out your empty Duerr’s jar
2. Pack your jar full of your favourite Christmas spices
3. Place a small piece of fabric over the top of the jar (it’ll need to be quite thin fabric to release all those lovely festive aromas)
4. Secure the fabric and decorate the jar with a piece of ribbon tied in a bow

HOT CHOCOLATE GIFT

Create a thoughtful handmade gift for the chocolate-lover in your life.

You’ll need:

• Duerr’s jar(s)
• Mini Marshmallows
• Hot chocolate mix / cocoa powder
• Ribbon
• Gift tags/labels
• Hessian

1. Clean out your empty Duerr’s jar
2. Layer up your jar starting with the cocoa and then topping with mini marshmallows (And chocolate chips if you want it super ‘chocolatey’).
3. Pop the lid back on the jar
4. Cover the jar with hessian (cut to appropriate size) and secure with decorative ribbon
5. Write and attach your gift note for your chosen chocolate fan…

WINTER FLOWERS

This is a lovely way to showcase your winter bouquet and would make a perfect addition to your Christmas dinner table.

You’ll need:

• Duerr’s jar(s)
• Selection of winter flowers

1. Clean out your empty Duerr’s jar
2. Fill your jar with a little water
3. Trim your winter flowers to the required height
4. Arrange in jar
5. Add to your Christmas dinner table, or make a few and dot them around your home to create a real talking point amongst your Christmas party guests!
