Royal baby mania has officially hit the world. After the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed a baby boy into the world on Monday the internet has been awash with tributes to the royal couple and their new arrival! But what do you buy a baby whose 3rd in line to the throne and sure to rival even Suri Cruise in the style stakes? Well, WWD have enlisted the help of top designers including Karl Lagerfeld, Dior and Christian Lacriox to help solve the problem. So, whilst the world waits on a name, let’s take a look at the collection of gift sketches by some of the best names in the industry.
Dior have commissioned a beautiful sketch of a stalk delivering gifts to the lucky baby, flying over Parisian and London landmarks including a Dior store, Big Ben and the Eiffel Tower.
Going in a completely different direction is Dean and Dan Canton of Dsquared who seem to believe the young royal will take after rebellious Uncle Harry. The pair imagined the heir to the throne rocking a Sex Pistols slogan tee that has been doctored to read “God Save Granny” along with a very punk mohawk and piercing.
Going in a more traditional direction were Karl Lagerfeld and Vera Wang who sketched a royal dummy complete with a crown along with a sceptre-style baby rattle and matching bracelet.
Another favourite comes from Christian Lacroix who created a collage of the perfect royal pram. Think one part sporty stroller one part royal carriage!
