We see everywhere on social media nowadays about how important practising self-care is.. and it really is. You wouldn’t let your phone run out of charge so why would you let your body run out of charge.

You can practise self-care in a vast variety of ways, including massages, phone-free days, a long walk. However, although it may seem it, self-care doesn’t have to be expensive or cost anything at all.

Here are some of the budget-friendly products we have seen that have caught our eye and we believe you could introduce to your self-care routine.

Palmolive

Palmolive is an affordable, American brand of a line of products produced by the parent company, Colgate-Palmolive. They sell products such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand wash and dishwasher liquid.

They have been bought to our attention with their collection of shower gels which smell divine. There’s nothing better at the end of the day than a shower or a bath with a lovely smelling soap.

Palmolive have all sorts of scents such as milk and honey, sunset relax (our personal favourite), coconut, and so much more. They even cater for sensitive skin too. Plus, there’s more (more?!) they retail from the tiny price of £1.50!

Sugar Coated

Sugar Coated is a company who are the self-proclaimed ‘future of hair removal’ and the ethical alternative to waxing. If you fancy a pamper evening waxing away those hairs, then Sugar Coated is the best people to do that with.

They provide an ultra-effective hair removal treatment that is gentle on your skin as well as the environment. Their vegan sugar wax is 100% natural made from just sugar and water. It is completely water soluble, and biodegradable (no messy spills ruining carpets and clothes) and it is eco-friendly with their washable and reusable strips.

So, not only would you be pampering yourself, but you’re being also eco-friendly at the same time… even better! Sugar Coated has been featured on This Morning, Cosmopolitan, Bazaar and the Independent.

What’s better is that Sugar Coated retails at £9.99 for 200g of wax and, 3 spatulas and 15 reusable strips.

Colorsport

The Coloursport Diva 30 Day Brow Tint is a personal favourite of mine. If I ever feel a bit *urgh* I always like to tint my brows. It is something so small but always makes me feel better after doing it.

I always used to use the more expensive brands until I was in Savers one day and saw this. For the absolutely tiny retail frice of £2.99 (yes, £2.99) you get up to 16 applications of brow tint.

Honestly, one of the most amazing products I have ever used and they’re wallet friendly. The tint lasts a long time and it is a nice bit of pampering. What more could you ask for?!

Cocoa Brown

Some people find that they feel better when they look healthier. If you enjoy looking bronzed without the hazzle of fake tan, which leaves you with stained clothes and bed sheets.

Not to mention the white gaps in between your fingers and the patchy back on the bits you couldn’t reach, then look no further.

Cocoa Brown Gentle Bronze Gradual Tan is the latest innovative self-tanning product that gives you beautifully hydrated, bronzed skin every day. Apply the Gentle Bronze as you would body moisturiser, ensuring that it is well rubbed into your skin. Wait for the lotion to dry (around 2 minutes) before you get dressed and wash your hands after use.

It really is as simple as that, far less hassle and it leaves you with gorgeously bronzed skin. It comes at the bargain price of £5.99 too – lovely!

However, like I said at the start, self-care doesn’t have to cost you a thing. If you don’t want to spend or do not have the capacity to spend money on products such as these then don’t worry – there is so much you can do such as:

  • Mindfulness
  • Meditation
  • A long soak in the bath
  • A walk to clear your thoughts
  • An early night
  • Hydration – I cannot stress it enough to stay hydrated!
  • Try to consume your 5 a day
  • Gratitude – try to practice this every morning and see if it helps you
