Heavy is the hand that wields the wax coated spatula.
We’ve all been victim to the beautician who has been asked to ‘tidy up’ our brows and leaves us looking like a newly fleeced rabbit.
With thicker brows being all the rage at the moment, Ms Delevingne’s luxuriant pair are in high demand. Angelina Jolie has even followed suit, ditching the thin brows she donned in the 90’s and early 2000’s for a much thicker brow.
We underestimate just how much eyebrows change your appearance. If they’re too thin, it can give you the appearance of larger cheeks and an elongated forehead. In extreme cases, the look of perpetual surprise is not exactly ideal.
Amor’s tips for getting your brows in tip-top shape this winter:
- Brush your brows so that the start of the brow is vertical. Gradually brush the rest of the brow in an outward fashion, aiming at a point between the top of your head and your ears.
- If you haven’t got much to work with, don’t be afraid to fill them in! We suggest using eye shadow instead of pencil in sparse areas for a softer look.
- Make sure the start of each brow is in line with the inner corner of your eye. Brows that start further away can give a slightly extraterrestrial look.
- The end of the brow should extend slightly past the outer end of your eye. A great way to elongate the appearance of your eye is to extend the brow even further, a-la Natalie Portman.
But don’t be over zealous this Spring – it’s highly unlikely that the mono-brow will ever be chic!
