FKA Twigs – Holy Terrain
FKA Twigs is definitely stepping into her own this year. FKA Twigs new album ‘Magdalene’ is set to be released on October 25th. The singer is carrying out the European leg of her show stopping Magdalene tour and will be gracing the stage of the 02 Academy in Brixton. The tour shows the versality of FKA Twigs as she takes on many art forms such as tap, sword fighting and pole dancing.
‘Holy Terrain’ is the singers follow up single to ‘Cellophane‘ and features American rapper Future. Set on a derelict land, FKA Twigs performs alongside her dancers as she searches for an ideal man who can stand up in her holy terrain.
Burna Boy feat Jorja Smith – Gum Body
Returning the favour from BurnaBoy’s feature on her latest single ‘Be Honest.’ Jorja Smith joins Burna Boy on his new single ‘Gum Body.’ Playing a more sultry role in the video the singer/songwriter from Walsall contemplates the direction of their relationship whilst being slightly tipsy off of Hennessy. The video directed by Meji Alabi starts off with Jorja Smith and Burna Boy in two separate rooms before they come together in a duet at the end.
Mahalia feat Ella Mai – What You Did
Mahalia and Ella Mai have combined forces in Mahalia’s latest single, ‘What You Did.’ The single is off of Mahalia’s debut album ‘Love & Compromise.’ Using American rapper Cam’ron’s infamous beat ‘ Oh Boy‘ the fiery duo represent girl power from the UK in this cinematic video directed by KC Locke. In the visuals the duo also pay hommage to Aaliyah reenacting memorable scenes from Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number. The song culminates with Mahalia and Ella Mai setting fire to a Volvo showing that they are not the ones to be messed with.
Ray Blk – In My Bed
After a period of silence London based singer Ray BLK is back on the scene with her catchy new single ‘In My Bed.’ Ray Blk shows her versatility as an artist and surprises fans by also rapping on the track. In the new visuals we follow Ray Blk with her girls as they track down Ray Blk’s man cheating on her. Ray BLK plans an attack on her disloyal lover which results in her being taken to prison.
Paigey Cakey – Lotto Bars
‘Lotto Bars’ is the latest single by UK artist Paigey Cakey. The short video is directed by Kayla Owen and features an instrumental from Mobb Deep. The visuals show Paigey Cakey having fun with her friends outside the UK as she wears the sportswear brand Lotto and shows how she is still getting the bag.
